Excited, got a good deal on . . .

. . . an OEM K-Q adapter and an OEM tripod foot off ebay. The adapter was $160 and the foot was $48, both including shipping. Hopefully, both transactions will go smoothly - should have everything by early Feb. The foot is shipping from Japan, the adapter from Texas.

Any tips for using these? I look forward to getting even more use out of my great Pentax lenses (M200, M135, FA80-320, FA100macro).

Anyone try a reversing ring on the adapter for some outrageous macro shots?

Super deal! You will find the adapter very useful. The fun is about to begin.

Tips:
1. With longer lenses use tripod- a steady one.
2. Use wireless remote to release shutter.
3. Experiment with different apertures to find sweet spot. Most lenses are best around f5.6.
4. Get a Pentax RD10 ( or the mini) red dot scope. Acquiring the subject quickly, is so much faster and easier.
5. Enable the 2 or4X magnified view for better focusing.
6. PRACTICE.
thanks

Thanks for the tips barondla. Sounds like another opportunity to explore photography. Where's a good place to get the scope? IIRC, there are a couple of good threads here discussing how to use it.

You can get the scope from B&H, or ebay.
There is now a mini version available as well, I have not tested it.
The setup thread is here: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/136-pentax-q/212245-how-set-up-pentax-red-dot-sight-q.html
The thread has a link to the mounting rail supplier as well.
Have fun!
