You're on the right track, unfortunately there are probably no adapters exakta => k mount as the registration distance of the exakta mount is only 44mm while the k mount requires 45.5mm.
I see two courses oe to you:
1) adapt exakta => canon eos => pentax q
2) adapt exakta => c mount => pentax q
I would choose the latter approach, as the c => q adapter opens up the whole universe of c mount lenses to you (don't tell your wife I told you though), plus you could adapt your exakta lenses to practically any other milc camera by swapping the requisite adapter (c => m43 / nex / fuji x etc).
I checked *bay and there is at least one exakta => c mount adapter available from a us source.
