How to fix RAW distortion for Q7

Hi! I just bought the Pentax Q7 and I am loving the size and convenience of the Q7+06 lens combination. I own a Pana GM1 but still enjoying the "fun" in this camera. I just have one issue with it. RAW distortion. I am currently using Lightroom 4 , but even after using the lens correction profile for the 02 or 06, I notice that comparing RAW to JPG, the JPG shave more correction done to the image. Do any lightroom users know how to rectify this difference. I like to use lightroom because I can batch process the distortion. Thanks for the help.

The Lightroom lens profile might be made for that lens on the older Q camera, with a smaller sensor.
Either way, you can also manually choose the lens corrections. I would suggest you take the lens profile as a starting point and then modify it until its the way you like it, and then save that lens profile. Now you will have a second lens profile and you simply choose that one as the default or as the choice in batch processing. I don't know the specifics, I don't use that version of Lightroom, but I'm sure there are tutorials online. Maybe someone already made a better lens profile for that specific camera/lens combo.

Edit: Oh btw I think the default lens profile also has sliders. So you can turn the "distortion correction" up or down. Try fiddling with that

Just as quick reply. I tested a trial version of the Lightroom 5.3 and the distortion correction is being handled way better then in LR 4. You will still see some small difference from the JPG but its minor and I can live with it. Thanks for all the help

Hongning, welcome to the Q and this forum. You are already putting the Q7 to good use. Glad you solved the distortion problem. The Q family is interesting with two different format sizes involved. Post some pictures, when you get the chance, and enjoy the Q7.

thanks
