Own several cameras and bought the Q body only for something fun to play with. The body was about $135 shipped. While it may be a great camera, It definitely did not sell me on using it as a system. Although small in size, how much room would I really save carrying it around with a couple lenses over another camera with less limitations. Instead I felt inspired by pairing it with the 07 mount shield lens. While people may not like that lens and find faults with it, the same could and has been said about the q. it seemed to me like a great match and a fun toy to bring back a bit of simplicity. I tried it out and was actually impressed how well the combo performed for the limitations of both the camera and the body. While some may say that the shots could have been better with any other camera or lens (or photographer,) I do like the results.
First time out with the camera was the Nekromantics show. I love shooting at concerts and for some reason, it popped in my head to take this combo out. I knew the limitations in a club setting and the f9 lens. I figured I would push things as hard as I could and see what happens. Well that did not work out so well. Poor enough in the conditions to say do not even worry about wanting to see the photos. It was bad. I figured this would be the case so no real disappointment.
The next day I went to a car show out by Sanford. Here is where it started to come together. I went against many things that I would never do, such as shooting in B&W. I went at it with an F it mentality and just played with the camera some. Here are some of the photos I shot, and honestly I had a blast shooting with the Q and the 07.
