The math is not very difficult. From the pics (if this is indeed a pic of the lens we'll see), would have a front element of about 12.5mm by my measurement. If the lens falls in the middle of the FL range indicated on an older Q roadmap, then it should have a FOV EQ of @ 92mm for the Q, which works out to @ 17.5mm in actual FL. With this FL and entrance pupil size, this works out to @ f1.4 max aperture.
I think this would be an acceptable spec for most users, and if it's a 1:1, all the better. The only problem with looking at FOV EQs with macro lenses is that the actual FL is what counts for MFD/working distance at 1:1. Working distance will likely be pretty short, but the low weight and small size of the lens/body should allow for easier handling than a 1:1 DSLR setup. Don't forget that the Q with a 1:1 lens shows almost a 4:1 apparent magnification (size of subject in relation to the image frame), so this is a pretty extreme macro setup at MFD. Working distance could be improved by pulling back and shooting at a 1:1 apparent mag.
I think that it's a good idea to announce and show prototypes of this lens even if it will be a while before actual introduction. It gives current Q system owners something to look forward to and potential Q system buyers IMO, this lens and the 06 tele zoom should have been among the first available for the Q system (as well as the K to Q adapter) since they dramatically illustrate the size differential between the lenses (and therefore the total multi lens system size) of the Q system against any other ILC system.
