A walk with the Q

A few pics from a walk I took with the Q this morning. It does pretty well for a small sensor camera. The second pic is a giant, gnarled Osage Orange. Best looking dead tree I've ever seen, and it is huge, sprawling about fifty feet across its widest part.

At one point the trail I was on crossed a steep, meandering ravine cut in the mountainside by a creek. It drops a couple hundred feet or so in elevation over a short distance by a sequence of waterfalls. I've crossed this in the rainy season, and it is impressive, but the hill is so steep there's no way to get below it for a better view. The photos don't do the drop justice. A wrong slip and a person would be finished.

The final pic is the same Osage Orange processed for an Agfa B&W film effect. I tried to catch the sun through the branches, but the cloud cover was heavy, and the effect didn't quite work.
