Oh; and every single flash on earth looks hilariously ridiculous on a Q.....
Yeahhh, there's my issue - can't imagine my old SB800 looking proportionate somehow.

Only thing is, I want to use a sync cord and go off-camera, so I may have to hunt through my local second-hand shop to find something suitably small.

I got a Q without number two months ago with the 01 prime and 02 zoom. Here in Germany these kits are still available, even 10 cheaper than when I bought it.

I would go for the first Q instead of the 10, unless the prize was really god. The metal body of the original Q fells good and seems quite durable, the Q 10 is a plastic construction. Also, I did not see a Q 10 bundled with the prime lens, but that may be different in other countries.
Good shout - I'll have to have a look around to see what's still on offer. Unfortunately it's quite hard to find somewhere that isn't online offering an original Q here in London.

The Q has the metal body, but the Q10/Q7 do not feel cheap for missing that. I think that is a non-factor. The Q10 and Q7 also have the better-resolution rear screen, and Q7 of course has wider aspect -- the 02 goes down to 24mm eq. on Q7, not just 28mm as on Q/Q10, and 08 gets as wide as 17.5mm, which is how I got the Watergate in one frame from across the road. But in any case, any of the Q bodies with the 02, 06, and 08 is an impressive range in a very portable package. The best deal right now IMHO is the Q7 Complete Kit from the Pentax Webstore. One purchase gets everything at once.
