Just ordered a Q7

I luuuurve my Q. I have the 01, 02, and 06 to go with it (and if you read the other thread, looks like Im buying a 08 soon too).
But occasionally I find the noise and the slowness of the little beast a little annoying. So what to do about it?

Cant wait.

You'll also like how all your lenses behave as if they are a little wider.

Does anyone have any good case/half-case recommendations?
I have one for my original Q, but I'm assuming it wont fit the Q7. I do get the impression however that the Q10 and Q7 are the same fit?

The reason I ask is; the case I currently have for my Q is a bit rubbish. The fit as the case wraps around the front grip is such a poor fitting and just kinda flaps around in the breeze a bit. And all the ones I've been looking at online (going by the photos) are much the same.
I'm liking the genuine Pentax ones, but they only come in black, white, and red. But I'd really like "full hipster" brown.

GOT IT!!
Ordered it yesterday morning, had it this afternoon!

Very first impressions:
Certainly lighter than the original Q. But I do miss that 'proper' metal feel. It's not a show stopper, just an observation.
It really is faster that the Q. Shutter lag (my main bug with the original Q) is non existent. Everything about it is more responsive.
I love the silver + black. Although I originally wanted the Silver + brown (but impulsiveness got the better of me) I'm not complaining at all.

Q7 is better than Q10.

Congratz!! I agree on the colors. I think the feel of the new body is quite solid and pleasing if different from Q. With the different sensor I consider it nearly a new camera that concidentally has the same mount.

I passed along all my Q's but one to my children and kept a original, NIB $169 deal kit unopened. Some day it'll either be worthless or worth something. If I hanker for an original Q shoot I can borrow my wife's.

Enjoy the new camera. I have them both, and love using them both. I agree that the Q7 is faster, with less shutter lag, but it is the original Q that still rides in my jacket pocket continually. With the upgraded firmware I don't notice the delay as much.

Echoing crewl1! Enjoy your Q 7s. I'm v. happy with mine, then improved speed esp. makes it much more useful for street photography.
