For me forget the touch and tilt screens, they just add to bulk and complexity and no real improvement for me. Keep the buttons and dials we have but add more programmable functions to the front dial. Maybe the front dial could work in conjunction with the Green button position 1 could be programmed to ND filter with the green button turning it on and off, position 2 could be Focus peaking (Green button alternating on / off) etc... The 1/1.7 sensor is standard for enthusiast compact cameras and has seen many upgrades in the past and I'm sure the 1/1.7 sensors will continue to improve.

If m4/3's technology is anything to go by; I think you're right.

Q is a great camera for people stepping up from a phone. If Ricoh wants to push that angle, they need to make sure that IQ is always a step above phones while incorporating some of the social/instant sharing features of phones. That may necessitate a touchscreen along with WiFi/NFC/Bluetooth.

I'd like to see better battery life.

Wireless phone/tablet tethering would be very cool to play with. If combined with really good video performance this could be really very useful.

Put a fast F2.8 30x (20-600mm eqiv) superzoom lens with EVF and 4K video mode on it.

The best next step for q would be a Cto Q adaptor with built in shutter (if possible). C mount lenses make great additions to the Q system in terms of size etc. I am just starting with them but ther would be a future in it for ultra fast compact tele's

I would like to see WiFi in camera in the Q. IQ is already adequate in Q7 for 80% of most photography. It makes good 12 by 18 prints. Sensor improvements over time will improve this further.

I guess that would be nice. Eye-Fi Mobi 8Gb is inexpensive, loads native right off and works for now.

A brighter standard zoom would be great, but only as long as it remains small.

Another issue, although never mentioned, is the currently extremely weak rendering of reds under artificial light (see Pentax Q7 Review - Compared to the Q - PentaxForums.com) You can clearly see the effect in the "high-iso noise"-images, where a part of the reds is rendered as pink even at iso 100.

Improve battery life too

I use an Eye-fi connect card in my original Q but find it does deplete the already small battery quite quickly. With this in mind I would like to see the next Q to have improved battery life, optional EVF, improved rear screen and built in wifi. Tethering to a mobile phone for remote control and tagging GPS info would make it a winner for me

LCD and battery

If it had an LCD in daylight, I would not have to carry a hood or guess on what I'm shooting. If it had better battery life I would not have to carry extra batteries or a charger. The point of the Q is to go light and small. So both of these would make the camera ideal, I have no qualms with the quality of the picture even with the smaller sensor. I have a printer that prints 13 x 17 but have not tried printing a Q shot to that size given the price of ink these days and my lack of wall space.

That's my main wish. A fast standard zoom like the one on the MX-1 would be awesome: compact 4x, 28-112mm equivalent, f/1.8-2.5.

I was very disappointed to find the ultra wide in the roadmap was a zoom. I was expecting a super-wide prime.

The only confusion for me is Pentax's retarded naming system.

Q1. Q2. Q3. That's the logical progression. Q, Q10, Q7 -- that's just retarded.

The plastic bodies are just following big brother: K10, K7, ... , K5, K3?
