The Q forum sure is a happy, peaceful place.

Happened to venture into other forums here at PF- including Sony medium format speculation. Wow. So much screaming and rudeness. I was totally unprepared for the hostility. So glad this forum is quieter and more polite. Life and photography should be enjoyable.
Thanks everyone for a great forum.

Qusers understand that photography is fun. Instead of moaning about the full frame they don't have, they are happily out taking pictures.

That pretty much explains it.

A couple from today (Q7/06):

A few peaceful black and white pictures taken today with my Q and 06 lens (click on any picture to see the full size TIFF -- beware, big files):

Pace e salute!

I learned yesterday after an exchange with one of those Sony people that it is possible to Ignore a Forum. I promptly changed my settings and watched Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which I hadn't played since we got the new television. This is the first thing I saw this morning.

I want to take my Q7 up to Wu Tan Mountain.

I agree. I'm so glad I found this place when I picked up my Q a year ago. It's been good inspiration and a great resource when I need info or help.

Here's a shot from yesterday, this guy seems pretty relaxed too

This is a nice place to be. I do somewhat regret that when the Q was $AU200 and the K01 was $AU 300 I chose the K01. I don't use the K01 a lot and think I would have used the Q more. I have a Lumix LX1 which gets more use than the K01. I tried the Q in store and had difficulties with it's size. It was so tiny in my hands..That's the reason I passed on it....It has proved to be a stunning camera in both it's conception and realisation. Hats off to Pentax for this.

Oh, but there are lots of happy and peaceful places here on PF. All the photo sharing subforums are generally very friendly and relaxed. People over there are much like the ones here; they enjoy taking pictures.

Just stay away from anything to do with rumours and other brands...

Absolutely.

I think there's a tendency to obsess about ultimate image quality in larger (than 1/1.7) formats,
to the detriment of the fun factor and the creativity of the photography.

Maybe this is why the Q system can be so liberating
(on top of the portability and relative cheapness of the equipment).

I think Adam should make that post a pop-up on the FF forum link.

I think the real point is people bought into the Q system with no grand illusion that it would evolve into full frame. Sadly, although the statements from pentax, for years stayed committed to APS-C people made rants about not having FF
