Happened to venture into other forums here at PF- including Sony medium format speculation. Wow. So much screaming and rudeness. I was totally unprepared for the hostility. So glad this forum is quieter and more polite. Life and photography should be enjoyable.
Thanks everyone for a great forum.

I find this site to be very nice. The heat rises sometimes, but compared to other places it is a pleasure to read.

Love that shot MykeBatez. Great capture, great atmosphere.

Thanks ^_^ I've been experimenting a lot with candid/ street shooting recently and it's been so much fun.

Really...can you "measure-bate" with the Q? It is what it is. Once you discard all the stat-geeks, you get back to making images...and that's where the Q shines.

It hold the Polaroid kind of approach, but with much more versatility.

The biggest photography forum in Sweden is a mess, people have had too much coffee (and who knows what else) on that forum.

That's not saying much. Isn't Sweden one of the most caffeinated countries on the planet?

EDIT (Yep, but not as bad as Finland)

I'm always pleasantly surprised. The Q/Q7 may seem quirky, but they can really hit above their weight...

Cheers... M

The Q line has a lot going for it and the Q can produce some serious IQ! I think there's also the thought that the Q is a bit of an underdog in the camera world so when it puts out a great shot then we're all happy.

Just left the big cameras at home for this months Pentaxian outing for neighbouring Malaysia.
Couldn't be happier.

I did not want to feel burdened by the 'weight of gear'.
No encumbrance.
No distraction on what the camera or lens does, which often a bigger camera can easily mire the user in false 'importance' of such aspects.
With the Q7, it was just 'shoot'

Dim markets, so what?

i really love the Q section of this forum, I agree that it is a very open minded and peaceful kinda place. This is straight off the camera from last night, no PP (Original Q + 01) Fluffy Blanket + Snoozing Dog + Bleach Bypass Filter = Captured a cosy & peaceful night

I sold my first Q and I really missed so I got a Q7 a few months ago and I'm a happy camper again!! It truly is a misunderstood camera that I proudly use on all my urban explore adventures. The attached photo is a bit creepy, but it shows how amazing the monochrome filter is!

Not only a happy place but a busy place with lots of helpful advice. I also visit a Canon point and shoot forum and with all the canon users it is hard to believe this place is much busier than the Canon forums.
