Tamron patent for a 15-50mm f/1.4 lens?

Tamron has apparently filed a patent for a 15-50mm f/1.4 lens designed for 1/1.7" sensor.
The latest patents from Google, Panasonic, Tamron, Canon and Olympus | Photo Rumors

Maybe it's just for a compact camera, but as far as I know, Tamron only produce lenses for interchangeable lens cameras. The only camera with a 1/1.7" sensor is the Q7? I can't imagine Pentax sell enough Q7s worldwide to justify a 3rd party lens manufacturer producing lenses for it, but you never know

With the availability of the 06 it's too bad Tamron isn't looking at a 45 -100 or 135 now that I would be of interest to me

Tamron patents

Tamron patent applications of the 15-50 mM F1.4 is. Image sensor 1/1.7 " because it corresponds to, 70-200 mm can be used instead. to the lens configuration of 12 pieces in 9 groups, to configure both sides non-spherical surface of two, single-sided aspherical one, called LD one lens It is. Apart distortion of pincushion and become much stronger in the telephoto side, the meridional astigmatism is pretty bad around, seems to be good performance considerably.
Corresponding image sensor 1/1.7 " With that said, Pentax corresponding to Q is worrisome. Pentax flange back is about 9.2mm, Q mount, from the rear lens optical system of Example 1, optical glass ( So to the imaging surface 4.64mm 2.50mm, from optical glass, the problem of the flange back will be solved by ignoring the optical glass 1.00mm, optical glass thickness up to IRCF / OLPF, etc.).
The inner diameter of the Q mount is about 29mm, but the inner diameter and in consideration of the electronic contacts, exact lens diameter of Example I can not figure out how. Certain F1.0 lens device, such as cutting out the rear lens must also be willing as, I might fit into Q.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY
[0105]
As described above, monitoring the dark place at night or the zoom lens according to the present invention, surveillance cameras are useful for, particularly, is optimal for traffic monitoring cameras clear evidence images are required day and night.

Pentax Q, which is first and foremost lineup is 70-200mm equivalent

I do not have much attention but, 15-45 mm F2.8 telephoto zoom Pentax Q is, 1/1.7 " when used in the 70-210mm-equivalent is. just then Tamron and patent applications published on the same day (JP It is 2014-56023). sensor is said to be small 70-200mm here until I'm small. dark lens is large, neo single-lens or the like to achieve the bright F value is big. telescopic side of Kondeji want to always carry case, Q is it is a good choice.
M4 / 3 , Nikon1 , Pentax if scaled down almost as an optical system of a full-size single-lens reflex, Q is,'s a convenient mount that can be used without waste back focus. D3300 kit lens and the like in the example of recent, in JP 2014-48374,2014-48375,2014-48376, and APS-C 1 " There are examples of. of the technology nourished by the mirror-less now, single-lens reflex Feedback will begin in earnest.
