F number not going under 4.5. HELP Please!

Hi every one!

As the title says, I'm having some issues trying to get my f number going under 4.5 on manual mode. I don't know why I can't go under that number on my Q with my 02 Standard Zoom.

Here I list the data I think may be useful to get a solution:

Lens: 02 Standard Zoom

Firmware Version:
- Camera: 1.14
- Lens: 02 Standard Zoom 1.01

Mode: Manual

Thank you so much for your time.

Is it limited at all zoom ranges, or just the long end?

The 02 only goes to f2.8 at widest setting, it is a variable aperture zoom.
Starting at the wide setting using AV set it to f2.8.
Slowly zoom in and see at what points the minimum aperture changes, at 15mm f4.5 is the limit.

In contrast the 06 lens is a constant aperture zoom, so you can get f2.8 at any focal length.

Once you zoom in to the telephoto end, most cameras won't go back to the lower aperture you originally set when you zoom back out. You have to manually set it lower again each time. This is one of the reasons many of us dislike variable aperture zooms.

Yep. One of several reasons.

Don't get me started. The only ones I've been happy with are the K-mount f/3.5-4.5 lenses.
