So I just picked up a Q with the 01 Prime

I bought a Q10 with the 02 Zoom when Beach had it for $169.

I got the Q on shopgoodwill for $111 ($124.96 shipped). One of the bodies will be listed in the marketplace I'm sure.

But what gets me is the sniping on shopgoodwill. It sat at $97.60 for 2 days, then it goes to $111 with 9 seconds left. (My bid was way higher). I can see the point in sniping on eBay, but shopgoodwill.com? There were 10 total bids...

Congratulations, that's a great price if it is as described, which it really looks good and complete. Shopgoodwill is no better than ebay for sniping, it may be worse. A couple years ago you could really get some good deals there on a regular basis. Over the last year of so most items go for much more than they are worth. Some of that is the ridiculous shipping costs which you have to count as part of the price, it seems most of the Goodwill stores don't know what priority mail is. I've been burned a couple times by conditions of items from Shopgoodwill, but I still look and bid. I did buy one lens that I'm sure was misrepresented intentionally. The way it was described and the way the photos were taken were just too coincidental to be ignorance. I only bid $55 on the Q, I don't have the photography funds right now and I would really like to get a Q7 instead. I did get what will hopefully be a good deal with a Sigma 28-105 on a PZ10 for $18.15

I used to get great deals, but I've been burned more often than not lately. I won a group of lenses that turned out to be a Sigma Mini-wide in M42, a Sigma Super-wide in M42 (broken), a Focal 28mm F2.8 & Hanimex 2x TC in K-mount, a JCPenney 135/2.8 in Minolta S a Five Star 75-210 in Minolta S, and a Tamron 70-210 Adaptall with no adapter. Plus some worthless filters...All for $37.60 (With UPS shipping it was $57.20). Before that it was a mostly broken ZX-5 with a 28-70/4 that was so badly hazed you almost couldn't see through it. That was $25 but UPS shipping made it $43. Looking back at the last 180 days I have had 3 good deals and 4 bad ones. And a couple other bad ones before that. It almost put me off shopgoodwill forever. But this one really looked like a no brainer.

I only bid on this one because I was looking for the 01. The body will probably end up in the marketplace.

As far as shipping... anything from the left coast will take at least a week to be shipped, and they all use UPS Ground. So another week. This one is shipping USPS Priority. My rule of thumb is don't buy anything from Arizona or Florida, it's best if it's from the Mid-west.

Unless there is something you really like about the Q10, I think you will like the Q body more.
Or did you previously own one already?

We'll see. But the Q10 has higher flash sync speed and ISO 100.

Also has easier to use buttons. Lacks stereo mics though. Wish there was a Q that had it all - including the metal body.
thanks
