I opened the box and immediately wished I had the 01 prime to take it for a spin as designed.

The 01 is nice, but if you have the 02, you're in business. Some carp about the IQ of the 02, but my copy of the 02 is quite good.

I opened the box and immediately wished I had the 01 prime to take it for a spin as designed. The price of the 01 prime would have taken it out of "bargain" territory for me, however; adding another $200.00 to the price. Besides, I already have a compact camera in the form of an MX-1 which by all accounts has better IQ. I bought the Q body as, basically, a super tele adapter; gotta stay focused and within budget no matter how "fun" the Q looks.

I waited until I found a package deal - Q and 01 together for a low low price, and it does not matter which Q model either. Kept the lens and sold the camera body. That just cuts the price in half.

Which adapter did you end up with?
I seem to recall someone using a cheap canon clone with some leather to space it, you might be able to find the post if you search in the Q forum.
You may be better off trying to rig a tripod ring for your lens vs the adapter.

I'm gonna try this one, it's cheap. It's inner diameter is 1mm larger than the diameter of the 55-300.
