Anyone bothered to fire of a few frames from that bad boy?

What are the images like?

Well just for the sake of keeping info in a thread, Some examples of it on an APS-C sized sensor.

I have one on the way so I'll let you know either way.

That's a good article on the 110 lenses. I like the idea of using them on the Q due to their size, but hadn't appreciated they could only be used wide open. I'l be interested to see what you make of the 20-40mm zoom when you get it.

Yes there are many ways around the wide open problem

I'll see what it's like first tho, but initially a clean drill bit and some black card can potentially go a long way to help.

And just to keep a thread with us much info as one can find..

I use some of the other 110 lenses on the Q. They do better stopped down 1 step. The Lensbaby aperture discs fit perfectly in the Fotodiox adapter.

As far as I can tell, RJ Camera make a variable aperture 110 adapter for the MFT format, but none other, which seems a shame. It's not that expensive at $75, so you'd think there's be a market for other formats, too. On the other hand, someone handy with a good lathe (or preferably a machining centre) could get in and alter it to suit the Q.

I've used the 110 70mm and the 50mm, both are nice on the Q (stopping down with an aperture disk does help a bit). I've got an entire 110 kit coming which includes all the other lenses including the zoom (and the hard to find 18mm pan focus), so should be interesting...

Yes I think the way I'll go is to stop it down near enough to f4ish and just leave it, but yes, just waiting for them to turn up now.

Handy handy indeed! The idea being that one could get a M42 reversing ring and even mount it in front of the lens. But given the size of the 110 20-40mm f2.8 this might not be to out of place..

Something like that makes more sense for big cine lenses that have been adapted to M42 but anyway.. There are options.

And I still think a simple lens baby aperture disk to get it sharp is the way to go, and then forget about it. I mean I won't need to stop down for extra depth on a Q now will I... well.. rarely I predict

Tromboads, the ap discs just friction fit into the adapter from the rear. This puts the aperture very close to the same place it would have been in the 110 body. I made a little hook from a paper clip to pull the aperture back out without having to remove the lens too.

Agree the adjustable iris adapter is likely overkill to gain the use of only 1 or 2 stops. Plus the LB ap disks have perfectly round aperture openings. Gives nice bokeh.

Now I have a second adapter. One will have an ap disk and one won't. Just switch lens back and forth as needed. The aperture marked on the LB disk is not correct in this situation. I think f11 gives us f4 on 110 lenses. Can't remember, and I don't have the setup nearby to check.

If it is any thing like the primes then it will need stopping down. This is the cheap and effective way
