I want the next Q

This is my vision of the next Q... I named it Q-V1 like electronic Viewfinder, with a grip, same modes as the K-3, video and two control wheels.

Interesting thought, but the EVF does make it bigger,
which is starting to defeat part of the object of the Q series.

("Is that a Q-V1 in your pocket,
or are you just pleased to see me?" )

And I'm not sure if Nikon would appreciate Ricoh
using anything-V1 as a name for a mirrorless.

The user modes would not be necessary
if there was more flexibility in programming the front dial (1,2,3,4).

I use the front dial of my Q7 to switch the ND filter on and off,
but as several users have commented,
it's annoying that you can't program the numbers separately.

Many premium compact ILCs have an EVF on the left or right of the camera that so not stick out upward like a pentaprism. Try repositioning the Red, the EV Comp, and the Green buttons to be horizontal. Then put the EVF above them. Now you can remove the pentaprism looking structure.

Remove the articulated flash and add an EVF. I would use the EVF more often than the flash. Make an add on flash.
thanks

The Q is fun. Live with it.

i dont know why people insist on destroy the concept of a small camera by sugesting to add this and that, if you want an evf and a grip there are several other cameras to chose from

an evf and a grip on the Q are absolutely useless, my advice to you is to learn how to take pics without an evf/ovf free yourself from that old concept, stop living in the past and embrace the future

p.s. that camera looks ugly as sin

Of any Pentax cams, the Q needs to be remote-controllable with the FLU card. The Q is far more readily placeable at a distance from you, as opposed to the larger K-3 or K-S1.

I have always wondered why don't they take the MX-1, Swap the brass top/bottom bit's to plastic to save cost, remove the Lens (Expensive part of the Camera) and put on a Q Mount?

Its's the same sensor as the Q 7/S-1, yes it's a bigger body but it gives us a tilting screen and exposure compensation dial.

They have 99% of the tools and parts already so it can be that expensive to produce, and it gives us Q owners a choice. I would love a Q mount MX-1 it would look great and I don't mind the extra size.

Can you Photoshop one of them for me please

I agree, I like my Q7's the way they are. When I want something more than that I pick up the K-5 or K-5IIs. I do not know why folks can't be happy with something the way it was designed.
