What lenses do you want on the Q?

Probably been discussed before, but I am just interested to see what native lenses people would like Pentax to release for the Q?

The only future lenses I know about is a macro (100 F2.8?) and a replacement to the 06. And both if these are still rumours!

For me the 04 with the build quality of the 01, basically a good 35mm lens with really close focusing!
A compact telephoto zoom that reaches at least 400mm (Yes we have adapters but I want autofocus!!!)
A super zoom 28-300 or a more compact 24-125.

There's a rumor about a replacement 06?

A fast 5mm or 6mm would be nice.

With all these large sensor compacts that have fast zooms (sub-f/2 at the wide end sometimes), I think the Q needs more than one fast prime in order to stand out from the crowd. The 02 needs to be supplemented with a faster equivalent--can they make a 5-15mm f/2 the size of the 06 and priced at $500? How about a 20mm f/1.x or a 40-100mm variable aperture tele zoom? Just dreaming here...I don't know what's possible and what's not for this type of system.

Right now I have the 01 and the 02. All I really want is the 06 and 08... Though I look forward to the macro prime as well.

Ditto. I think a collection of UWA, WA, Normal, and Telephoto primes would attract a lot of attention from the market and show that Ricoh is serious about the Q. An improved version of the 02 would be nice. It sounds like the 06 and 08 are really nice the way they are.

Maybe they can make exact copy's of the limited lenses and call them little limited's

or a f0.85 toy lens! Manual focus, and if its a 'toy lens' nobody will complain about the image quality!

May I ask "Why develop a lens for the Q?" Is it NOT considered obsolete? I'm under the impression that its been replaced by the Q7 and Q-S1 (VERY different critters... right?). Does that change your spec? How much are you willing to pay for a lens like you propose?

Now, let's say you step up to the Q7, or Q-S1, then dedicate the next six months to becoming a world class post- processor and succeed. How might that change your spec?

Just curious... M

I'd like to see more primes built to at least the quality of the 01. The 03 is fun(ish) but frustrating with its short focus throw.
A 5mm f3.5 or faster would be ideal. A nice, fast, telephoto prime would also be great, something like 40mm f2.8. I have
no interest in zooms, and would prefer compact designs over big glass. To me, even the 02 and 06 are too big as they
create a "T" profile with the camera which limits its pocketability.

I think the Q's are niche enough that a range of 'fast primes' are probably not likely.
I'd like a better quality kit lens replacement. The 08/06 are noticeably better and I'd like to plug the gap with something of the same quality.

Michaelina2 - Sorry I was meaning all the Q system cameras, although I have an original Q, I know Pentax will not design lenses for it any more. I am saving up to upgrade, but have not decided on a Q7 or S-1

As for the price, sadly I have very little money to spend on camera gear. Like a lot of people I was drawn to the Q (System) on the hope that the Q lenses will be cheaper, and so far (apart from the 08) they have been. Although I understand the need for few luxury lenses in the list (the 08 must have taken a lot of designing), I really hope they don't put up the prices of new lenses too much.

I'd really like a good quality 28-300 equiv. superzoom for those occasions when I want to travel extra light with only one lens.

I just picked up an 06, most impressive. I could use something slightly wider for general use, so maybe 10-30 f/2.4? Pentax being Pentax, maybe 9.5-38

If it was extremely compact, the 06 can be a bit too long at times.

How about 11 and 18mm f/1.2 primes? With autofocus?
