I appreciate all the answers. Do you think all the native Pentax lenses get better on the newer Q-cameras (compared to the “original Q”)?

I have used the 01, 02, 03 and 06 on both Original Q and Q7. They all do get better in terms of IQ although, because of the different crop factor, the 06 has less reach and the others are somewhat wider. Those differences make the nontelphoto lenses better for me but some may prefer the Q FOV over the new wider view on the Q7. That was too long - straight answer - IQ is better on Q7.

Thank you Mikesul, for "reach" I have some adapted lenses, so your view is meaningful!

Yes, adapted lenses are often amazing on the Q7. I think crewl1 already praised the DA*300 but it deserves another nod. That lens is outstanding on any Pentax camera but it produced amazing long reach photos on the Q7. Just wish I could hand hold it!

Da* is definitely too pricey for me, but I use some older lenses on my Q and have enough fun with it (SMC M 135/3.5, Super Takumar 150/4 are really fine, Takumar 200/5,6 seems to be also OK).

I owned the beautiful little M*300/f4 for awhile. It was great on the Q if stopped down. Fringing was always an issue but usually could be controlled in Lightroom. It is the closest I ever found in both reach and IQ quality to the DA*300. It is hard to find but is sometimes available for relatively low prices. I should add that it did take some practice and care to get the most out it.
