indeed, but with the zoom, the Q ain't pocketable really. I was hoping for a slim 24-28mm, and sligtly faster than f2,8.
A "pancake" lens, which both Sony and Canon make available for their cameras, would certainly help the Q to be truly pocketable.

For the way I use it, on the back end of a scope at manual focus, that without a proper viewfinder in bright daylight it's almost useless.

But isn't that the situation where a Hoodman or similar works just fine?

Thanks all,

Just checked the survey and we have had 88 people fill it in!

It turns out the maximum limit is 100 so only 12 more people needed then I can post the results.

Cheers,

Dan

Sure does. I use a HL when doing reversed lens macros with camera on tripod.

I've been involved in several discussions on this and closely related issues. I would really really like to see a viewfinder on mirror-less cameras, but if Pentax won't do it the Hoodman is sometimes criticized as being too big and destroying the concept of being compact. I might personally accept is as being better than nothing.

Have you tried the EVF on Sony or Fuji?

Yes, I tried the EVF on a Sony A6000, and I liked in a lot!!
I'm not a fan of the others I've tried, the first word that comes to mind is "garish" (probably over-saturated), but they would be better than flying blind outside, and truthfully, I have a terrible time using LCDs I currently have (pocket camera, cell phone) when I'm outdoors.
