Adapting M42 to Nikon to Pentax Q

Hi everyone, I have a question about adapting M42 lenses to my Q and hope that I can get some input from you guys.

I already have a Nikon to PQ adapter that I am currently using, I am just wondering if I can simply get a M42 to Nikon adapter ring to use my M42 lenses on my Q as well.

One thing I notice with this ring is that it does not provide the capability to focus to infinity, will it be able to focus to infinity when I use it for the Q (M42 -> Nikon -> PQ)? Anyone has experience with this approach?

Thank you in advance for any suggestion.

Why not get a m42 to PK adapter and PK adapter to Q? m42 and PK both have the same flange distance.

Or get a M42 to Q adapter. The Fotodiox is like $15.

Yeah, just get the m42-q adapter. I will guess that will be cheaper than a m42 - nikon anyway.

Thank you all for reply. M42 to Nikon ring is alot cheaper than M42 to Q, that's why I want to check if it works... it is only $1.45 with free international shipping from this seller, what do you guys think?

If it doesn't have infinity focus on the Nikon it won't have infinity focus when coupled to the Q via the Nikon adapter.

Go with the M42 to Q adapter.
