How do I know if my Q7 has the firmware update to use the 08 lens properly?

Camera off.
Press and hold menu button.
Turn on camera while holding menu button.
Firmware version is shown on screen.

Ok so I have camera ver. 1.01 is this the correct version?

You sure about that? My Q7 displays the firmware version by navigating to the "wrench" Menu, option 4, then opening the "Firmware Info/Options" dialog. It shows "Camera Ver: 1.01" installed. My 08 lens seems to work just fine.

Oh, I forgot it was in the menu...

I suspect only the in-camera lens corrections require a specific firmware version. Pentax mentions the 08 lens in the release notes for version 1.14.
