Pentax Q-S1 in New Zealand

As promised in my previous review of the Q-S1 I am posting some shots I took on my recent trip to New Zealand where my main camera during a hike and around town was the Q-S1 and a my new X100T. I ended up using my Q-S1 95% of the time and took the 01, 02, 06, 08, and fish eye. Most used lens was the 08 followed by the 06.

I'll post additional later, but enjoy! I believe these photos show as always, the photographer is always more important than the equipment, and knowing how to leverage a tool's strengths can create some amazing possibilities. All photos have been re-touched, as that is what I consider the final product.

Lovely shots. I am bothered by tilted horizons, as one other poster is. I am so bothered by tilted horizons I have a grid scribed focusing screen to help me keep things straight.

Almost perfect examples, but the blown whites and tilted horizons draw my attention every time.

Some of your images invoke in me the feeling of cold and solitude I experienced near the Tundra levels in Rocky Mountain National Park. Thanks for letting me recall that feeling while sitting in the comforts of my warm home.

As one who has enjoyed his fair share of adult beverages I am never bothered by tilted horizons as I know they do exist.

Horizons are hard for me to figure out when I am in mountains ... or when I'm looking at pictures of mountains ... you're eyes must be better calibrated than mine are.

Does the Q-S1 have a level indicator as the Q-7 does?

These are absolute gorgeous images, thanks for showing us. While I am with CWRailman and completely understand from where he is coming from, please fix the horizon in the first one.

Thanks for reminding me of the beautiful country i live in. I don't mind the tilted horizons. Let me guess the locations, the yellow sand beach is in Marlborough somewhere? Central Otago for your hiking shots, glacier shots are of Fox Glacier?
