07 Mount Shield Lens

A some of you will know, I've been trying to make my use of the Q a little more spontaneous, and more than just a lower-quality DSLR. This weekend's fun has been around the 07 Mount Shield Lens. I picked one up, new, for around 30 - about $42 - and just started taking plenty of pictures.

It's certainly Quirky and uniQue, but I think it's growing on me. I've not seen much mention of it on here. Does anyone else use this?

Yes there are users of it. I have one as well. Member Sandy Hancock just shot all last month with it in the Single in February 2015 challenge. You can see his collected images on flickr here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/sandy_hancock/sets/72157650173621578

I will be doing a similar challenge with it in July.

Quirky is an apt description of it. Challenging is another. I will say that Sandy's work with it is inspiring - to me - and shows that it's more useful that one might expect.

I've posted a bunch of shots from the 07 in the "Let's share shots with the Q" thread.

I use it occasionally. I see it a kind of Instagram filter you can just slap on the camera.

Yes I got one recently and I like it. The images have a special look to them. I do find that I need to bump the contrast and saturition quite a bit. Otherwise colours are a bit dull.

Really enjoying this lens. Very 'toy', but a little tilt-shift at times too!

That foggy scene was a nice topic for the 07. Looks like where Dorothy and Scarecrow picked up Tin Man.

I'd get one if it could be had for under 50 including postage (and preferably less). As it is, I think it's unreasonable.

Aw, shucks Tim, you'll make me blush
I takes some getting used to, but the effect can be nice when used in moderation.

The problem is it's hard to find shipping for less than 25. Euros, not dollars (tho that's currently less of a difference).
