Pentax Q in Bulb Mode

Hi Guys, I was trying to get Bulb mode to work with a remote for long exposures. But the remote shutter option is blanked out in Bulb mode.

I also checked user settings and such.

So I'm wondering, the Q doesn't let you use a remote to control shutter time in Bulb mode?

The Q doesn't have bulb mode...only manual mode. Or at least mine doesn't.

Nope. No Bulb mode

Maybe the OP is confusing BC (Blur Control) with Bulb?

Goodness, I hope not. I think the OP meant time exposures. IIRC, 2 seconds is about a long as it gets on a Q.

Bulb is accessed in manual mode. Turning the shutter speed passed 30". And yes the remote is grayed out in my Q classic as well. You can use the timer though.

No definitely not. I never once mentioned Blur Control mode.

Thanks for the answers guys, I guess it's only 30 second max exposure then

And I never said you did. I was just wondering if the BC on the mode dial was mistaken.

Is that right? I had no idea bulb mode was accessed by turning past 30".

Wait, so, bulb mode only goes to 32 seconds? Am I reading that correctly?

Bulb on the Q does seem a little pointless, doesn't it?

Not necessarily. You could be using it to capture lightning or fireworks or something where you're just holding the button down until something happens, rather than wanting a super-long exposure.

But yeah, not the most useful thing ever.

And it really *does* have a bulb mode. A stupid one, relatively speaking, but it does exist.
