The range of the 08 is nice for brightly lit indoor shooting of conventions and shows. The 01 has been to long for me and the 02 doesn't produce the same level of IQ. I'm more comfortable walking around an event with a Q over a K3. How often is convenience cheap?

I would like a super telephoto, a 150mm F2.8-5.6 would be perfect. Somebody is using a telescope that give the equivalent of 560mm, a Triple Apochromatic refractor that uses only three pieces of glass. It sounds like it could be possible.

I was curious about that Triple Apochromatic refractor so I looked them up on optics-pro.com, where they range in price from €599 to €995,000.00, depending on the lens diameter, type of glass, tube material construction and every other variable you can think of. Nice though .

Probably the single most important cost variable is the type of glass and after that is the focus mechanism.
In order of increasing quality:

1. So called "ED" often a doublet not a triplet.
2. FPL-51
3. FPL-53 probably the best glass normally available.
4. The only other glass that might be better than FPL-53 is Zeiss fluorite.

The trouble is that if you go from FPL-51 to 53 it may more than double the price because you don't put that quality of glass in a cheap tube with an inexpensive mount or focus mechanism so everything else on the instrument is upgraded as well. It may be worth it but can you afford it?

This is pretty close to my scope except mine is a 80mm objective at 560mm. Mine is not made anymore.
