It is when you're checking out how sharp type looks. I like using Pringles cans and Coke bottles. The type is pretty sharp and contrasty. I don't have to wonder if it's the lens or the printing on the label that sucks. It's easy to focus with. I grabbed a coaster yesterday thinking that would be good but actually it sucked. Having been wet the type which looked fine to my eye was actually kind of messed up to a camera lens. It didn't work well at all. I need to grab a new piece of green poster board tomorrow when I go to Target. There are some things I want to photograph with a green screen. I might as well play with Q at the same time...

nah... I use salt and pepper mills, nice clear acrylic ones- the shiny knob on top gives the right amount of sharpness (or not in some cases )
