Q7 and PTLens?

Have any of you used PTLens successfully? I've been using it with other cameras, and it was OK. With the Q7 and the 01 and 02 lens (that I've tried so far), all I get is "Lens has not been calibrated". I checked the website and it looks like these lenses are supposed to be supported, so I don't know why it isn't working.

Hi Tony, PTlens web page is kind of confusing, but it states this:
QuoteQuote:
Pentax Q7
All Pentax Q7 lenses

Pentax Q
All Pentax Q and Pentax Q7 lenses
(...snip...)

Pentax Q7 Lenses (1/1.7 sensor)
Pentax 3.8-5.9mm f/3.7-4 [08]

Pentax Q lenses (1/2.3 sensor)
Pentax 8.5mm f/1.9 [01]
Pentax 5-15mm f/2.8-4.5 [02]

So it seems PTLens can only calibrates 08 lens for Q7, while 01, 02 and 08 are supported for Q.

I'm guessing that the calibration images for 01 and 02 were taken by Q or Q10 while those for 08 were taken with Q7, as images taken by Q7 could also be used for calibration of Q as the sensor of the latter is basically a crop of the former, but the reverse is not true.

The developer of PTLens is quite responsive to request to add new lens. If you contact him, he does reply. To include new lenses. he may give you suggestions of basic photographs to take and to send him.

In brief, I have been twice in contact with him and I was impressed by his willingness to address some issue. I recommend you to contact him with your specific request.

Hope that the advice will assist.
