Of frogs and hummingbirds.....

......with Q7 and 06 lens. We went on a short trip visiting family in the Ottawa area and stayed at a nephews place in Kemptville. They live on a small acreage and it's full of wildlife. If I would have known I'd taken the K3 with the 55-300 but as it was I had the Q7. Not a problem with the frogs but hummingbirds were a little more difficult. Here are a few:

Get a feeder, you'll see them sit down.

I do have a feeder, but they still like the flowers around much better, and they always stay in air during dining time.
Maybe when the flowers are gone, they will look at the feeder more.

Huh! When there's only 12 'bar stools' and way more than twice as many hummers ya have to hire a bouncer during Happy Hour to keep 'em from trashin' the place.

Actually they spend much more time perching in trees than people think.

Look like mostly females. Male hummers can be nasty, pugnacious, out-of-my-territory little demons if there's another male hummer about.

Yeah, there were about eight males dukin' it out in the parkin' lot over that gal in the red feathers. When there's only ten bar stools and twice that many hummers I have to hire a bouncer during Happy Hour.

Oh, an' nice shots Heinrich. The Q7 can amaze ya.

The frogs are awesome and I especially love the bird on air. There's just something about that photo.
