CPL on Q series ?

Hi folks,
Just wondering if a CPL features in your Q use and how it suits 02/06 ?

When I had a Q ad 02 I did use a CPL, I thought the 02 needed it and it did help my output.

Get a 40.5 - 49/52/?? step-up ring and try your existing filters on the Q if you already have them. Expect typical results with the usual caution that POL's don't play well with wide angle lenses (like the 03 and 08).

You can also pre-set a larger POL filter and simply hold it in front of the Q lens to try it.

As I have delineated in numerous posts, I always have some sort of filter on my camera just as protection for the lens. That was drilled into me years ago when I first got into photography. Inside it is usually a UV filter but outside in our harsh Arizona sun, besides using the internal ND filter which does not seem to do much, I always have either a 4ND filter on or more usually a Polarizer filter. It is a necessity under our harsh Arizona sun.The polarizer does quite well in knocking out the glare as well as deepening the blue of the sky. However it depends on the angle of the sun.At certain times of the day such as when the sun is just rising and it is at your back it has almost no effect but at other times of the day it does darken the sky as well as the green foliage and this effect is easily seem in the LCD.

The 01, 02 and 06 lenses all use the same 40.5mm screw on filters and I get no vignetting from using them. Not sure what happens with the 08 lens as I do not use one. You might also consider using a 40.5 - 42mm adapter ring and using a 42mm filter which is probably easier to find. Such adapter rings can be purchased from sellers on Ebay for around $3.

thanks pacerr and CWRailman
I'll see what will slip inside my hoods, the 42 might be better option than the 49 in that regard.
I've got the wee converging hood on the 01, presumably would operate the polariser if screwed into the end of it, nice

I use one on all my Q on the lenses that will take a filter, for the same reasons as Arizona, it's bright over here too!

I use the Pentax CPL on the 01, 02, and 06 lenses with good effect. I also use a CPL on the 08 lens. There is no magic here. CPL's work just fine on the Q system lenses just like on K-mount etc.
