Q-S1 at iso 3200

I started processing my images from a just completed Caribbean cruise, came across these two taken in a rather dimly lit dining room.

01 lens at f:2, shutter 1/60, iso 3200. noise reduction in ARC

Not only do both look amazing, but the ISO 3200 + NR performance is great, too!

I think we have to take our collective hats off to you, Heinrich. You are the Q-master here, there's no doubt in my mind, but the shot of you tells me someone may be following you closely, too!

ARC is what? Really fine pictures - without respect to being from the Q - nice framing and great light.

Fingers too fast, should be ACR of course. (Adobe Camera Raw) Sorry about that.

Thank you one and all for the kind comments. I carried the Q-S1 with 01 attached every where, the dining room was really dim and when I took that picture of my better half the comment was that it couldn't be done with the Q but I tried anyway and after she had a look at the resulting image demanded her turn.

Astounding quality. Your Q and processing skills are amazing. I would not have believed this possible.
Thanks for sharing

Are there any tweaks you have to do in ACR to get the noise reduction so clean?

I don't think I've been to 3200, but have done 1600 on a Q7 and was quite surprised at the result. Looks like I have a bit in reserve!

make sure you have your image at 100%, I am very careful not to overdo it, just enough adjustments (especially in Luminance) to get the job done. Like most things it has a bit of a learning curve but it's not rocket science.

Take care,

Heinrich, you are my hero!

I am personally a great fan of the Q but what you are able to accomplish still challenges me to continue to stretch my own envelope with this wonderful little camera.

Thank you sir.
