Why mirrorless would make extra space?

BTW, it's possible to go find substituting sensors not with shifting them, but introducing additional mirror which will redirect light to smaller sensor.
Er... Because there's not a great big mirror in there? Look at the k-01.

And sure, shove some extra mirrors in there, that will go miles towards improving the picture quality. You'd better patent this idea quick.

Didn't Sony or some other company recently make an adapter that gives old manual lenses some sort of AF? Not sure whether it just extends in and out or if there is something more complex going on.
Yes, it's a Techart product. It extends. It is reliant on PDAF in camera body, the motor is nowhere as quick as CDAF hunting requires.

using smaller sensor instead of APS-C surely improves image quality when more telereach is needed, so it DOES improve image quality compared to crtopping from aps-c sensor Unfortunately I don't have these in one camera body.

We can make a Digital Single Mirror Reflex Mirrorless camera! Imagine, the technology of mirrorless taking a bold, new step and adding.. a mirror!
That said, I think Pentax already had some patent for dual-sensor camera, where one sensor is used for live view and another for the actual still photos. I assume the sensors would be optimized for different things, one for fast, crisp video with relatively low resolution, another a high resolution, high DR digital stills sensor. Don't know how viable that technology is or what the patent even specified.
