Osprey at 300m with a telescope (3091mm)

Telescope = ORION 80 EDT 480mm f6 (Triplet Apo)
+ Tele Converter x1.4, the venerable Nikon TC14B, now 672mm

The safety distance for an Osprey nest is...300m.

Impressive!

No doubt it also took a LOT of patient work out there in the field to get those results.

Someone hide this thread before Otis finds it, poor Rupert is going to have to buy another bottle of glass cleaner otherwise.

And maybe the camera mounted on a cement pier to reduce vibration?

Phenix jc, freakin' awesome shots! Incredible series! You are taking reach to the maximum. Very sharp lens/teleconverter combo. Even with the ultra sharp lens combo, it is amazing the atmosphere was so stable, allowing such sharp images.
Thanks for sharing.
