A very crappy and fast photoshop to prove my theory.
To me the blue background looks more natural (or expected when looking from underneath). Yours is unique and not another picture of a bird

It was before noon and I was shooting west so no back lighting and I do not remember any cropping at all. I can check that later if need be. It was I’m sure soft focus on my part as the Tamron adaptall 400mm f4 can be very sharp. Having said this soft focus, wide open and up close may have play a role in the image.
