I'm on a very restricted budget, so I have to optimize my spending on things I know I'll like. Only problem is, I like too many!

The 06 has landed! I must say, I'm very happy with the capabilities of this lens.

First @15mm
Second @ 45mm
Last: very heavy crop, yet quite acceptable!

My Q kit is 01, 02 and 06 and I'm quite happy with all three. In good light the 02 is very good - but the 06 can be superb, as you've emonstrated above.

The 08 just doesn't pull me.

With no PP (except cropping); I'm very pleased with this lens! I frankly didn't expect this quality out of a tiny lens! Now all I need, is to buy a hood for it. This was a pre-owned lens from a wonderful member here, & it's mint condition, has the box and all paperwork with it. I really love dealing on our MarketPlace!

A 40.5 > 49mm step-up ring and 1, 2 or 3 empty 49mm filter rings as needed serves very well on my 06, adds very little inconvenience and allows for cheap (loose-able?) 49mm squeeze-type lens caps and filters.

The after market hoods are very inexpensive also.

I have the JCC hoods for most of my lenses. Haven't paid more than 10 for one yet.

That's probably the brand I'll be going for. Many seem to like this brand!

This is one that's interesting. I like having one that a lens cap will fit on.

It's a bayonet mount, so it does not use the filter threads.

Don't quite follow what you mean. This would affect me using it, in what way?

See the top plastic ridge with a channel moulded into it? That is the bayonet mount. the threads for the filters / lens cap are on the inside of that ridge so the lens hood doesn't interfere with the filter / cap mounting.

I just bought an 08 on Amazon for $342. Prices for these lenses are way down. I paid 230 for an 06 last year and they can be had online for 140ish now.

I just paid $126.00 (06) from Amazon and should receive it Monday or Tuesday.

From the link I provided, I would want to be able to place the cap on the hood, rather than the lens, when the hood is mounted, as shown in the link.
