Copal makes most Q lenses

This may be old news to Q users, but I found it interesting as I was browsing the Copal web site looking at shutters.

Most (all?) Q lenses are made by Nidec-Copal, as you can see from this image from their web site (and corporate brochure):

Not surprising really, since Copal makes all sorts of camera shutters, and most (all?) Q lenses have in-built leaf shutters.

Not old news to me... Interesting!

The only official Q lens I'm aware of without a leaf shutter is (rather obviously) the 07 Mount Shield Lens...

I wonder which model that is at the back right??

It does seem mysterious.
It could be made for someone other than Pentax, of course. Copal seem to make a lot of lenses and lens components.

Is the one in the back the macro telephoto that we never got to see? Is there a way to order them straight from Copal and bypass Ricoh?

It does look like it could be a macro tele. Sort of a squashed-up DFA100 in Q-mount

The Copal incarnation of the Pentax-09 Telephoto macro doesn't look like the moke-up

so there is hope it won't be stillborn.

Styling of the back right lens is similar to the Sigma lenses for micro 4/3rds. However the Sigma lens doesn't poke out that far in front of the barrel as far as I know...

I doubt it is the Sigma lens - I'm just pointing out that the styling is not typical for the Q and matches some other lenses styles.

The extra lens looks to me like it has the style of Samsung nx mini lenses, and might be about the right size - would be the extending tube from a black lens in the barrel of a silver lens, which would be easy enough for the manufacturer to do.

Agree with above. The Samsung Mini 9-27mm is quite similar in look and as mentioned while the barrel sticking out is black the Samsung is chrome.

The 03 Fisheye, the 04 Toy Wide, the 05 Toy Tele don't have shutters either.
