pixel shift for Q

Pentax should do a firmware update to allow pixel shift for Q cameras. Who's with me?

If no SR then cannot get Pixel shift.

? The Q platform does have sensor shift stabilization.

... And very effective it is, too

If the K-3 can't get it then I doubt any other ones would.

Really good idea. Count me in. I would love to see pixel-shift on the Q and see what it could do with the 08 as a micro-landscape rig.

Since Ricoh don't seem to be developing a new Q or any more Q lenses at this point, a small investment in some firmware updates would be nice to keep the user base interested and engaged.
Not sure what is technically possible but what I'd like to see are:
- Pixel-shift.
- Option to change color of focus peaking.
- Option for one-click multiple exposure.

And mechanical SR in video.

The question is whether with photosites so small it can control its movement in precise enough a manner to do the single pixel width shifts needed.
If it can control the sensor well enough to stabilize a shifting image that is "so small",
pixel shift should be no more difficult than with the K-mount sensor sizes.

The white focus peaking highlights border on unusable.
They work for me when I'm using the adapter or the fisheye.

For the "high performance" lenses, I just let the AF do its thing.
The Q is the only system where I don't have to second-guess the AF.

But there is almost certainly a heavy processing load which the Qs probably could not handle. Perhaps even hardware. Lets just hope they continue the line and issue new lenses.

I would love focus stacking for landscapes and especially macro. Could the processor handle it? Don't know, but the Q will handle 9 multiple exposures.
Thanks

If so, maybe a raw-only pixel shift mode could be done, and push the heavy processing off the camera altogether.

Is there a known issue that would prevent Pentax from putting a better processor into a member of hte "Q" family?

Furthermore, these mechanisms are designed to correct for gross movements of the sensor, not single pixel shifts, which is why when IS is used on a tripod, it overcorrects for tiny on-tripod vibrations, leading to more blur. Given this, It's actually pretty miraculous that ricoh has even been able to get PS to work with sensors as small as APS-C

I don't think its that farfetched. The SR in Pentaxs are I imagine very similar to those in Olympus and they manage to do a similar thing with an even smaller than aps-c sensor and more megapixels than the Q. (can anyone do the math for size difference in photo sites between Q7 12mp vs 4/3 16 or 20mp?)
