Me too. I now have a Q, Q10 and Q7. But I share your frustration. I have tried the loupe on the K-01 and it is very good, but too big for everyday use. I got a Petri optical viewfinder off ebay but I only carry it for desperation use. It does ruin the form factor. The Clearviewer looks interesting though and I might give it a try. But I wish Pentax would go back into that system and develop one with a small built-in EVF. My Panasonic Lumix DMC-LF1 has a very small EVF which I find really useful in those bright sunlight conditions. (I also think that age takes its toll. I know it does on me!)

Hi Carol. I had the same problem with my Q. On dull days, it was fine, but on bright days it was a pain.

I’ve still got the Q, but most of the time when I want a light, pocketable camera, my Fujifilm X30 gets the job.

Absolutely, my eyesight is definitely getting worse at my age.

Yes, granted it may be my eyes, but I simply cannot use the Q on sunny days, period.

Yep! And even with the readers, by the time I'm holding it far enough away to see, in bright light, I just have no idea what I'm really looking at.

Have you considered the X30?

Haven't really considered any yet; still trying to decide what to do.

I use the Panasonic DMC GM5 Super little camera with a M4/3 sensor amazing IQ and a electronic eye level finder

GM5 with 70-200 equiv lens on Left, Q7 with 06 on right

As for the The Clearviewer on a Q7 it works great BUT be careful not to leave it on the camera where the sun can project through the lens on to the LCD screen. I destroyed mine that way.

See the yellow marks on the LCD they are burned in by the sun focused through the Clearviewer lens and show up bright yellow when the LCD in on an image
