Is there anywhere else to find a q s1 besides ebay? I'm looking for a few of the color options if available. Is there someone hiding a stash of them out there? Any help would be great. Thanks
Stache

You can always keep an eye on Goodwill Auctions, Craigslist, etc, but eBay is probably the most likely place. Time and patience is my best recommendation.

The seller said it came from his father-in-laws estate (yeah, right) but all the items looked like new.
That 'story' is entirely conceivable. A lot of stuff sold on eBay is clearing up an estate.

I've been surprised by how much of the camera equipment I've looked at/purchased off eBay has been someone "flipping" it, and many of those have been people definitely doing estate sales.

So, how many of us are constantly looking for another Q?

For a newb, what are the lenses that one would want to get started and have a versatile set up on the cheap? What are the bargain Q lenses? Can someone also recommend quality adapters for the Auto 110 lenses and K mount lenses. Thanks.

I'm trying not to. In three months I've gone from nothing to a Q and two Q-S1s, and six of the eight lenses including multiple copies of some of them. I wouldn't mind a genuine Q->K adaptor though...

I've got three Q7s and Two Q-S1s, so I’m set.

For a long and fast telephoto, the Navitron 75mm f1.3 (c-mount) is hard to beat but big, often less than $100 + c mount adapter. For Pentax Auto 110 lenses, the 50mm is most usable: $30 + adapter (the Kipon might be better than the Fotodiox.) An auto 110 kit with 3 lenses and the supplementary lenses can sometimes be found for under $100—it’s a great way to experiment: the 18mm with the W21 close-up lens is a super “mini-macro” setup. Check out the “adapted lenses” sticky for the Q. I would stay away from D mount and “machine vision” lenses, they are often hard to use and may not cover full frame. The Cosmicar TV lenses (c mount) are worth looking at if you don't have an 06. Native Q lenses are pretty reasonably priced, the 03 is a riot.

I'm not real keen on adapting PK mount lenses on the Qs - the Qs sensors are unforgiving in their resolution and the combination can be awkward to use. An exception to this would be macro lenses.

I wouldn't mind picking up a Q7 to keep my Q company. Not sure about the other Q's; I'd probably love any of them.

I have one, and it with the D FA 100 macro is a pretty powerful bang for the size. I got silly and put it on my DFA 150-450, and it actually did better than cropping the same size area with my K-3 II. Tripod and good lighting being key though.

So nice to see others looking/having bought multiples of Q, and I'm not alone in being bitten by the Q bug.

No Q system is complete without 1 small sensor body (Q or Q10) and 1 large sensor body (Q7 or Q-S1) It gives twice as many fields of view with your lenses.

I ordered the Q7 with 02/06, 08, and some original Pentax K mount extension tubes from 3 different sellers in Japan. All were excellent to do business with. Next will probably be a Q-S1 body.

Thanks,
barondla

Thank you. I knew there must be a reason I need to add an original Q to the mix.

I remain puzzled by the OP. I do not think that Qs or the lenses, except, perhaps, for the outstanding 08, are expensive at all.
