How to make a hard reset for Pentax Q10?

I don't know if this will help, but I would try with another SD card.

My X-5 dies with exactly your symptoms when I turn it on with incompatible SD card inside.

Also, that the Q would die when it's turned on with a dead battery inside is improbable. Then mine would have been dead on multiple occasions by now.

PS. I will try my incompatible SD cards (Lexar 32M MMC/SanDisk 64M micro SD w/no name adapter) in my Q and see what happens.
Nope. My incompatible SD cards aren't incompatible with the Q.
