What's the largest capacity SD card you've used in a Q?

Always used 16gb cards in the Q and later Q7. Using 64gb card in the K-1. Haven't needed bigger in the Q, especially considering its battery life. But, buying new 16gb cards is almost a thing of the past. So what is the largest card you use?
thanks,
barondla

I have a 64 but for some reason prefer 32. I have 3 or 4 32s plus a few older 16s. I still have a 4GB I use in my K100DS or when taking files to the lab for printing.

Thanks,

I have a large number of, 4 , 8, 16 and 32 SD cards.
I move them around without any particular order.
They probably will last me till I pass away.

Thanks,
32gb is agood size. I also have low capacity cards. Have to have them for some of my really old cameras. One Olympus has Smart Media cards. Biggest is 128mb. Yes mb. See photographers all the time that can't shoot old cameras because their card died and replacements are only available used.
thanks,
barondla

Check what your camera supports. Go for half the maximum capacity or at least one level down. This procedure helps in life a lot. Don’t go for the extremes as things fail earlier if you use the extremes.
64gb saves a lot of images and some video.

I generally use a 16gb. I am not likely to be challenged for storage in normal use.

64GB is my max but I prefer using 16 GB cards and rotating them each day of a trip to reduce the chance that card corruption or camera theft means I lose all my pictures.

(I've taken all my older, smaller 1, 2, & 4 GB cards and put one each in each of my camera bags, fanny packs, & backpacks. That way if I forget to put a card in the camera (or it's full), have a card problem, or whatever, then there's always a spare card in every bag.)

I copy all files to a laptop every evening, and then to an external drive I have with me. As a computer professional, I know from experience that many backups are the best protection from corruption, failure, and theft.

Thanks for posting this!

I generally don't travel with a laptop when I travel with a camera (it's a business versus pleasure trip thing) but I do travel with an iPad. Your post made me test whether I could use that for backups. A small USB-C-to-USB-A dongle plus an SD card reader did the trick! The iPad auto-opens Photos and lets me import the images so now I have a nice on-the-road back-up option thanks to you! .

I have to admit that I decided about eighteen years ago that I wouldn't purchase a digital camera until I had established some type of backup capability; at the time, I was thinking of using CDs - but hard drives have continue to progress. As a computing professional, I would have never saved something on digital media without this capability, and I did have that by the time I switched to digital in 2007.
