Q 08 lens

I am curious how many of us still use the 08 lens. I confess to having owned and sold it several times but never because I did not love its handling and picture quality. It is one of the stars of the Q line.

I don't own the 08, but I'm curious about why you made this post. Do you use the 03 preferentially? Do you simply not use the Q
enough to justify keeping the 08, then pine for it when you do get back to using the Q?

The 08, 01 and 06 are the jewels in the Qrown.

My Q7 doesn't get regular use, but when I do get around to packing it the 08 is always in the bag. The image quality is marvellous and the 49mm filter thread is also handy.

I made the post because I am curious about the question I asked. The 08 is outstanding but I see very few pictures posted with it. I started a Lens Club for it some years ago but it no one has posted there for a long time. I do tend to use my K-1ii and Kp more than the Q but the Q is always fun.

I definitely use my 08. It's a keeper for sure. I find it's depth of field on the Q's sensor size great for close quarters.

My 08 never leaves the Q7. 01, 03, 06, and 07 (for a body cap only) are in the bag.

It could be because (a) its not that easy to find (at least in the UK --- the only offerings I see are from Japan) and (b) its pricey (and even more so by the time you add 20% VAT and import duty and handling fees...). I have six of the eight lenses, but have found it hard to track down a reasonably priced 04 or 08 lens.

I'll keep looking, one day one will turn up!

I only bought one last year. You are correct that I need to shoot it more. Unfortunately life gets in the way. I don't post to the lens clubs very often so the 08 pics would tend to be here.

Thanks,
barondla

I recently posted a picture in Let's Share Shots with Q! thread. I still use it and like it very much.

Let's share shots with Q! - Page 422 - PentaxForums.com

The only down side to me, if any, is that the lens cap is not as secure as 01, 02 and 06. More than once the cap came off in the bag.

Thanks for looking,

I have two Q7's -- one with the 08 mounted and the other for a bag full'a whatever else might be needed. I just rarely shoot things that would be of interest here.

Post a few. Might be surprised by what we're interested in. In Yellowstone I was leaning over a trashcan, photographing something inside. Lady thought I was a bum and offered me a sandwich. 😂

Thanks,

Ehh, probably not . . . unless you're shoppin' for parts to resurrect a PA-22?
The Q's make great 'pocket-Xerox machines'. Much more versatile than a smarty-fone.

Cool shot of wings. I've never seen how they're braced internally, until now. Neat. Wish you luck restoring the plane.
Thanks for sharing,
barondla
