Third party lens manual shutter speed

Hi everyone,

I am photography beginner. Got myself a used Q-S1 and I have an old Soligor lens which I can connect with an adapter.
When I try the in manual mode, the camera would only allow to set the shutter speed to a maximum of 2".
On the Pentax Q 02 lens that came with the camera I can set the speed up to 30".

Is there any reason for the limitation on third party lens? Is there any way I can set it to longer than 2 seconds?

Thank you!

I think it's because other lenses lack the leaf shutter that's normally inside a Q lens.

Your only option is to use the much more expensive genuine Pentax K to Q adaptor which has a built in shutter. If your third party lens isn't K mount you are out of luck.

Can you make multiple shots and stack them?

That explains it. I wonder why the "electronic shutter" can't wait for more than 2 seconds though.

I'll look into that. Is it something the QS-1 can do or it would normally be done with software?

I donít know if thereís an interval composite mode on the qs-1. But there are definitely programs that can stack images and shooting raw files should give the best option to stack.

Shoot up to 9 multiple exposures in camera for ~18 second total exposure.

Thanks,
