If you shoot JPEG, I suggest the Q-S1, as it has a much improved JPEG engine (better colorsm better noise handling) compared to the Q7. Here are JPG images from a review site:

The Q-S1 is also faster in use, has more advanced features then the Q7 (1/8000s electronic shutter vs. 1/2000s, greatly improved autofocus for video) so it is indeed the most advanced of the Q series cameras (and I have them all!). As the common knowledge is that both models are equivalent and most people prefer the design of the Q7 over the Q-S1, it is therefore easier to find the better model for less money than its predecessor.
