New PENTAX slogan: Be Interesting

I hope they didn't pay their advertising agency too much for the new PENTAX slogan: "Be Interesting." I could have come up with a better slogan for the mere cost of a few lenses.

This is just as bad as the new Kaiser Permanente slogan: "Thrive!", among others.

Do I really need PENTAX to be interesting? Will PENTAX do anything to make my photography more interesting?

This must be the vaguest and least interesting slogan since whatever the last stupid slogan was.

Back in the day, I schlepped bagged concrete (Armstrong method) at a warehouse across the street from a Kaiser Permanente gravel+cement yard. OK, it's contest time. Let's see submissions for a new Pentax-Ricoh Imaging Corp slogan. First prize: A week in Yuma, AZ. Second prize: Two weeks in Yuma AZ. Or better yet, winners are awarded a new PFC member category: Pentax Sloganeer. How does that sound?

Let's see some inspired suggestions, OK?

Our Mac User Group had a T-Shirt years ago with a similar theme. A bunch of drab grey clones and in the middle the two tone "Mac Man" finder icon from Mac OS 7.6. The caption was "Stand out in a crowd". (Remember, this was when Apple had a 5% market share. The iMac hadn't been introduced yet.)

The same theme would work for Pentax. A lone photographer amidst a crowd of Canikon clones using a K-r (choose color).
