Agree, I believe location is northern Turkey, or at least that is what they posted for location. Which is weird because I just met a girl who is from that area. And I hope the OP sticks it out because I was told the area is beautiful and I would like to see some photos posted.

Thanks for that. Some photos from there would be nice.

In past jobs & lives I've met and dealt with people who sometimes have 'interesting' English. It can seem like they're saying one thing but actually mean something completely different.

It pays big time not to jump to conclusions.

Small world sometimes, you meeting someone who is from that area.

I think they meant that Pentax is no longer an independent company, only a brand. Hoya purchased the assets of Pentax in 2008 I think, and Pentax ceased to exist at that time. And now Ricoh has purchased the assets and rights to use the name for cameras and has created Pentax Ricoh Imaging Company a wholly owned subsidiary of Ricoh.

I don't think Hoya did them a lot of favours,
Hoya kept them in business. That's a pretty big favour.

Agree. I think Hoya made a lot of wrong moves but it is easy to criticize from the outside when you don't have access to the real numbers. I have certainly been critical of the way Hoya handled Pentax but bottom line they kept them alive.

He did say he's a pediatrician who likes to take pictures of children. In the US he would be in jail faster than you can say "Did I say that out loud?".

I sometimes have to be careful how I explain what I do when I work a fall season for Lifetouch.

"I photograph school students" can get you some funny looks if you're not careful!!

Hastily amending it to "I photograph school students for their yearbook and school portraits"!!
