some cheap primes (around 100€-120€ -150$) really lacks. Canon is scoring a lot with it's EF 50 f1.8. Pentax could do the same

when i see how fast the F/FA 50/1.7 are sold, i just think that a lot of us would buy it

i would have to agree i would love to see some cheaper faster primes put out. because of canon is killing that end of the market we need something to compet with, also we need a 85mm f1.4 imo

I would be content with: DA 400/5.6 and DA 28/2.8 (or faster).

I would also accept a DA 100-300 2.8/4.0

Why a 28? It's not a very good focal length on APSC and for something that's basically a 42mm F2.8 is too slow. F2.8 makes sense at 28mm on a Full Frame. If they are staying with APSC they should do a 58mm F1.4 like the Voigtlander. Then you would basically have your standard 85mm. I would think a 23mm F2.0 would sell well. That one could be done fairly cheaply. Then a 35mm F1.4. Those are the three I think that would sell well for APSC.

Other than the rumoured new DA40, I think another new lens would be something like a DA50/1.7/1.8. That's a lens a lot people have been waiting for. Other lenses have to wait until the new roadmap comes out.

Look forward to the new lens and roadmap

I am at the very extreme end of dreamland... How about a 500mm F4.0 plus 1.4 1.7 and 2.0X TC's.... If Ricoh wants to compete with Canon and Nikon then they HAVE to bring out these kinds of lenses... They also have to bring out FF cameras like the 1DX and the D4 otherwise they are not competing or even coming close.... Every year I have been hoping that something in that league will be announced and every year it's the same mid level stuff that comes out for bodies and nothing but slow lenses. For me personally I have already made up my mind to switch to Nikon. However I do hope for all your sakes Pentax decides to actually properly compete with canikon instead of continuing to compete with the lesser brands....

We will see roadmap on February, 2. No any need to speculate.

That is what I am afraid of. I want a new A*135mm f/1.8, but chances are slim to none. I hear Sigma is working on the 135mm f/2 so at least someone is still developing good glass for the K-mount. I really do feel like Pentax has struck a deal with Sigma. If Sigma will support the K-mount, Pentax has agreed not to develop any new competitive glass.
Yeah I'd be happy even with f/2
Samsung are bringing out a 135mm f/2 for their APS-C MILC this year, why cant Pentax?:ugh:

Interesting that you say you heard Sigma working on one, I emailed both Sigma and Samyang asking about a 135mm and they both replied back that they have no plans for one....

I hope what you heard it true!

I've gave up waiting for a DA24/2 and bought a FA*24/2. It's hard to fathom why Pentax doesn't offer a fast 35mm equiv in their line up, probably the most useful and versatile FL of all.
Nice! Cant wait to see some pics from it

I'd vote for a 30ish F1.4 as a standard prime, of course rugged, wheathersealed, wheatheresistant (Whatevername) and with the new DC-Motor

I fully agree. My DA 35 ltd macro is my favorite walkaround lens because of the convenient focal length and extreme sharpness. But it's "only" f2.8 and the focussing is very slow too, due to it's extreme focal range.

Speculation is so much fun and give us something to write about until the actual roadmap arrives. At that the I am sure we will find a lot to write about.

Around the time the Sigma 85mm was announced there was an interview where the Sigma exec. said that they were planning on expanding their professional prime line up. The 50mm and 85mm were the first two. An 35mm and a 135mm were mentioned and there was speculation that a 200mm might finish the line. 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 135mm, 200mm, & 300mm.
