My guess would be that they're going to come out with a 400 f4 or 5.6; in this interview, John Carlson hinted that "something longer" was being considered.

I guess there will be more cheap lenses like the DA35/2.4. Maybe a DA50/1.7 and a DA135/3.5

That's what I'm hoping for!!! ...and a Pentax 70-200mm f/2.8 but they'll have to match Tamron's sharpness and Sigma's focusing speed which means working out any remaining SDM issues.

What I think it's new recessed lenses for the K-01, i.e. DA21 XS and DA70 XS. In plastic fashion, a la 35/2,4.

What I hope it's DA*560/5,6 DC IF ED, DA*180/3,5 macro and DA 8/4,5 limited

Ok, my guess, based on what is missing most:

1. Long glass: I guess something like a 100-400 mm Zoom or a 400/5.6 prime. I guess it won't be f/4, that would be to expensive and not be selling enough.
2. Fast glass (f/2 or faster) above 77mm, maybe 135 f/2
3. Fast glass below 31mm, a moderate wideangle around 18mm f/2
4. a longer limited like a 100 f/3.5

We'll see ...

At least it appears we will be getting a lens roadmap. My guess is close to yours, but I could also see a DA18-55XS lens.

My hopes are also like yours. We really need a high end lens longer than the DA300.

Actually, speculation normally doesn't go in this forum. It should go here: General Photography and Industry - PentaxForums.com

But I will let this one slide

Personal wishes and thoughts...
-weather sealed DA* covering from 10/11mm up to 16 is a gap in their line-up.
-400mm f/4 or 5.6 in a DA* flavour. Whatever they do in this regard, they need to design it from the ground up and not recycle the old FA* because, while it was good, it wasn't stellar.
-DA 11 or 12mm f/5.6 limited, and if they could weather seal the 100 macro, hopefully they could do the same with this.
-if (and that's a very big IF) they have any plans on going FF IN the next year or four, then do a DA* 16-50 f/2.8 mark II that completely covers the larger sensor size.
-same as above for the 50-135mm f/2.8....and put a ring type focus motor in this puppy.
-same as above for the 60-250 f/4
-FA 22mm limited f/2.0 to add to the three amigos.

That would be for starters...

Wow, that would be VERY cool. I'd buy that in a split second.

Or a extremely fast DA limited. That would be cool too imo.

And some long tele's. Even though I don't care for tele's myself at all, I just walk up to what I shoot, but I realize it would be good for the lineup.

@Andrew Faires I think I read that the DA* 60-250 already does cover the full image circle. It probably isn't optimized for full frame, though.

My guesses for likely options: Seems reasonable to guess they'll do XS versions of the DA Limiteds, whatever XS means. It'd be cool if they took advantage of the mirrorless body to make a better wide than the 21 f/3.2 but Pentax likes to reuse their technology so I'm guessing that won't happen.

Also, another obvious hole is the DA 400 mm or so range. People have been asking for that FOREVER and even though I wouldn't have any interest in it I'd be glad for the people who have stuck around waiting for it.

Also, like someone mentioned, budget primes like a DA50 f/1.7 would seem to fit Pentax's strategy lately.

Anything else besides these three categories would be surprising to me. This is always possible for Pentax, though. Remember when that WR 100 mm macro came out of nowhere?
