Signs you might be obsessed with photography

So, I'm an avid fan of photography and of cameras and camera gear. I've got a K-5 and a Q, about 10 lenses and a bunch of lighting gear. But I never thought I might be obsessed with it until this one incident.

I was on vacation, sitting on a tour bus. I think I had my K-5 with my DA 18-250mm travel zoom on. I was looking out the window when I heard some noises behind me.

*beep-beep* *click*

And I immediately thought, "sounds like a Nikon shutter." I turned around and though I couldn't see the camera, I could see a camera strap with a yellow logo. :-)

When did you begin to think photography was more than just a hobby?

Only 10 lenses and two cameras? Is that all? It appears that you are on the road to obsession but you know you will have arrived when you have at least 3 50mm MF lenses and are looking at two more.

Well I guess if I'm being totally honest I have more than 10 lenses. Maybe 15? And 5 are 50mm primes. My favorites are the PENTAX 50mm F/1.2 and PENTAX-F F/1.4.

I carry my K5 EVERYWHERE. People think me and it have melted together. Actually... Come to think of it... that would be pretty cool.

I see here some misunderstanding. What you get could me obsession but could be way of living. From day when I bought my K200D (my first DSLR) I carry my pentax with me. Some times with 8 lenses to be prepared for every situation (always with monopod and flash unit)

The obsession was realized when I created an excel spreadsheet with an inventory of all my photo gear and the price i paid for them. Let's just say with the money spent in the span of 3 years, I could have purchased a nice small car instead.

Depends if you're trolling the Marketplace for a F/1.2 or not. :-)
