Pentax K-3 Full Frame Announced

Actually the camera is the new APS-C 1.5 format and it's not a K-3 it's a K-515. ;-)

Pentax also announced their new advertising slogan, geared primarily towards calming down the FF wannabe's in Pentaxville.

two things:

1) As a joke, it just simply isn't funny - the Spec was far too plausible, in fact very conservative. It lacked imagination or irony.

2) But for anyone who is angry about it, I think that you are probably angry at yourself for being so gullible.

I think the whole idea of an April Fool's joke is to really suck in the victim. Adam did a good job... and it's funny. What's going to be even more funny is watching the Internet echo chamber pick this up. Rice High already has, although he's covering himself by reminding his readers about today's date. What would be the funniest is if it turned out to be true, revealing how cynical most Pentaxians have become.

What's sad is that for other brands this could be a true announcement, while for Pentax it's an obvious joke/prank.

See my initial reaction was yep that figures, after I have had my k5 for a week the new one is announced...however I realized my return period isn't up so it must be a joke. Everything I have ever bought gets an upgraded very shortly after I buy.

Good work Pentax. Looks like a beauty. But I doubt you made it to run on 4 AA's? So I'm most likely out of the market. But glad you are still in the running Pentax!!
